Reviewing a shot¶
The video uses demonstration data.
Select a shot in the shot list, or open a saved session and select one of its shots. The target displays the saved trace window, its phase boundaries and hold zone when those data are available. The subdued target face separates its rings and trace from the surrounding controls. Ring labels sit in the centre of each scoring band, with the innermost label at the target centre.
Selecting a shot during recording, after stopping or in a saved session displays its full available trace and shot position before playback starts. Playing clears the preview and draws the trace progressively. Resetting or seeking switches to the trace at the playback position. A small aim circle follows the trace throughout playback.
The controls below the target reset to the beginning, play or pause, and seek through the shot window. The time label shows progress within that window. Trace lines become thinner as you zoom out, with bounded widths at extreme scales. Replay controls are disabled when no usable replay is loaded. The mouse wheel and zoom controls adjust the target view.
Use Space to play or pause an enabled replay and Up or Down to select adjacent shots when focus is outside an input or dialog. Space also plays or pauses when a shot row has focus. Enter selects the focused row. See shortcuts.
The left pane shows the current series shot positions on a compact target that blends into the pane background and fills its box beneath an overlaid heading, above a scrollable shot list with scores and offsets. Select a numbered marker or list row to highlight the shot and load its replay. Arrow keys move focus and the selection together. Shots without positions remain in the list. The overview centres on the median horizontal and vertical shot positions and automatically zooms to the group, with padding for the shot markers. Tight groups show the relevant inner rings rather than the whole face. All positioned shots, including outliers, remain visible during replay. Adding or removing a shot updates the framing.
The app logo sits at the top of the navigation rail. The header contains the muted pane controls. Use the left and right pane icons to collapse either side. Click an icon again to restore its pane. Hover over an icon for its Hide shots, Show shots, Hide session or Show session tooltip. The camera preview remains available through the camera control in the navigation rail.
At narrower window widths, the panes sit below the target to preserve its working area. Each pane can still be collapsed independently. Pane transitions respect the system reduced-motion setting.
The Zoom slider, minus and plus buttons change the main target scale around its centre. Drag right or scroll up to enlarge it. The percentage is relative to the fitted target face. Choose 100% in the percentage dropdown to fit the face, or Auto to centre on the median shot position and fit all positioned shots, like the session overview. Auto updates as shots change. Using the slider, wheel or zoom buttons returns to manual zoom. The zoom menu supports arrow-key navigation, Enter to select and Escape to dismiss. Manual zoom ranges from 10 mm to 400 mm across the view. The slider, wheel and buttons use the same limits. Zoom leaves the session overview unchanged.
The Replay toolbar shows labelled play/pause and reset controls beside the shot timeline. Select a shot with a saved trace to enable playback.
Trace phases¶
The replay trace is drawn in three colours.
- Green is the approach, from the start of the pre-shot window until the aim settles onto the target.
- Yellow is the release window, the final moments before the shot breaks. Its length is set by the Release window option. The default of 250 ms suits precision rifle. Pistol or other slower-settle disciplines may want a longer window.
- Red is the follow-through, from the shot until the end of the post-shot window.
